WHAT IS THE ALMANZO MARKET?
The Almanzo Market is a Do-It-Yourself event featuring independent artists and their unique handmade items. The Market is held the Saturday after Mother's Day to coincide with the Almanzo 100 Gravel Road Race.

WHAT KIND OF THINGS WILL BE THERE?
At The Almanzo Market you’ll find all sorts of cool handmade stuff – including clothing, housewares, posters & prints, plush items, ceramics, jewelry, stationery & much more. The Market also features choice local eateries and delicacies.

Spring Valley is located on the western edge of Southeast Minnesota in Fillmore County, where the prairies meet the bluffs. Located on two major Highways 63 &16, the town is 30 minutes from either Austin or Rochester.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
If you're interested in applying as a vendor, please read the application instructions and apply!  The application process for the Almanzo Market runs from February 1st, 2011 - February 18, 2011.  Your application, photos, and $25 application fee must be postmarked by February 18th, 2011 in order to be considered for a spot in the Market.

HOW MANY BOOTHS WILL THERE BE?
There is room for 30 booths at the Market - accessible to all participants and spectators of the days bicycle races, as well as the residents of Spring Valley and the surrounding area.  Each booth space is 10' x 10'.

CAN I JOIN WITH A FRIEND?
Sure! But please help us stay organized by applying all together, and listing one person as a main contact with a valid email address.  Include everybody's business names and emails on the application, and send photos and payment at the same time.  Participation at the Market is priced per booth, so even if sharing a booth - the cost is still $25.

CAN I APPLY FOR TWO BOOTH SPACES?
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer more than one booth space per application.

WHEN AND HOW WILL I KNOW IF I'M ACCEPTED?
You'll be notified by the email on your application on February 22, 2011 whether or not you've been accepted into the Market.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT THE MARKET IS JURIED, AND HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR DECISIONS?
To keep the items offered at the Market of the highest quality, the Market is juried.  We review everyone's complete application and then make our choice based on several factors:
  • How your items fit in with our vision of the Almanzo Market
  • The quality of your wares
  • The overall cohesiveness and consistency of your work
  • How your items are represented in your photos/website

IS MY APPLICATION REFUNDABLE?
Unfortunately no, it is not.

IF ACCEPTED, WHAT DOES MY APPLICATION FEE COVER?
Your $25 application fee goes to cover all marketing materials, advertising as well as a 10' x 10' booth space for the day.  You will also have your logo, link, and information on our website throughout 2011!  Vendors are responsible for supplying their own display items, including; canopies (strongly suggested) tables and chairs.
PLEASE NOTE: Vendors are responsible for staffing their booths during the entire duration of the event, as well as all applicable tax and current insurance information.
